The smell of adventure

Last night I picked up a bunch of stuff - Givi tailbag for the CBR, flushmounts to repair the damage from the spill, my now-working SV, a 55w replacement headlight from PIAA, and an RF1000 helmet. My very first helmet was an RF800, over 8 years ago and I swear the new RF1000 smells exactly the same as that one did when it was brand new. As I pulled out of the bike shop with it on, all kinds of memories of my first tentative wobbling around the suburbs around Square One came flooding back. It was quite the feeling.

Or maybe I was just high from the fumes offgassing out of the various plastics, foams, and adhesives.

I think it was an early start on a road buzz, though.
