Ritualistic wrenching

I don't think I've ever done a road trip that didn't involve $100 spent at Canadian Tire and a few hours of wrenching the night before. Tonight we took care of the following:
  1. Some of the fuzzy Velcro to mute the buzzing vibration on the latch on the SV's Givi rack.
  2. Replaced the burned out H3 headlight on the SV with a PIAA unit that's supposed to be helluva bright.
  3. Adjusted the CBR's chain.
  4. Cobbled together working and good-looking turn signals out of the various leftover wreckage for the CBR.
  5. Lubed up the brake lever on the CBR (it was dry and getting notchy - now it's like buttah!).

Stuff I wanted to do that didn't work out:

  1. Mount a cheapie waterproof watch on the CBR's dash somewhere (surprisingly the ones at Crappy were all over $50!)
  2. Replace the lost bolt holding my chainguard on. I bought some nice allen screws and fender washers, but they were too short. D'oh!

We might take care of that stuff on the road, it's a long trip.
