A little adversity...

OK, anything that isn't trivially simple is going to go differently than you have planned. If it's anything that qualifies as an adventure, you'll have stuff to deal with that you didn't count on. So far, here's what we're dealing with as we count down to take off on Saturday morning:

The SV's charging/electrical system went bonkers almost 2 weeks ago, and it's been in the shop with a bunch of mechanics alternating between ignoring it and scratching their heads. It looks like either the new battery shorted out and killed the new regulator/rectifier, or the new regulator/rectifier died and killed the new battery.

In any case, we procured a replacement OEM (used) r/r, and Interstate replaced the battery under warranty. The bike is supposed to be ready for pickup today, but I'll bet anything that it'll still have a burned out headlight.

And yesterday Yi got an object lesson in tribology and crashology when a wet streetcar track decided not to return her front tire's affection. Fairly gentle lowside and she and the bike are a bit banged up but basically OK. The bike needs a new turn signal, she needs a couple of days of going easy on her knee and some ice and aspirin.

There's a lot to do over the next 2 days - but we're hopeful that we can get through it and be rolling by early Sat morning!
